Of the various stats for characters in D&D, charisma is, generally, the most unused.  In theory, it is how persuasive a character is.  A sort of combination of physical beauty and personality, the higher the score, the more other people are likely to want to do things for the character.

Lisa’s was an unimpressive “8” (on a scale where 9-12 is average).

The table joke was that she had “striking beauty.”  You either told her she was beautiful, or she struck you.
